The Cause

Only 27% of Indians areFinancially literate

This sad reality gives way to problems such as debt traps, discrimination due to socio-economic and gender disparities, and rampant cyber fraud. We believe that people are skilled enough to earn money, but are not experienced enough when it comes to saving and investing.

We at Wise₹ believe that it is everyone’s right to be financially literate.

INSPIRATION

After observing our surroundings, we saw the lack of awareness and the sense of apathy present in people our age about the use of money. Students who will be on their own in a few years have no knowledge on how to be financially independent. Not only this, but people with low incomes also tend to exceed their earning and get caught up in a cycle of debt trap. They are also frequent victims of cyber fraud.

Wise₹ was born out of the realization that money, although holds different meanings for each individual, is an integral component of their survival.

MISSION STATEMENT

We aim to promote financial inclusion and literacy, to equip the different segments of society with the necessary skills to mitigate financial challenges through education.

VISION STATEMENT

Through our organization, we hope to bridge the gap between financial awareness and ignorance and ensure equitable access to information for building financially ‘wiser’ communities.

Vaishnavi Agarwal

Founder

Vaishnavi Agarwal is a student in 11th Grade at Welham Girls’ School, Dehradun. She is majorly drawn to Computer Science and Physics. She also takes a keen economics and history. Apart from her academic quests, her hobbies include pottery and playing the guitar. Vaishnavi is a well-rounded, hardworking, and compassionate individual. Her desire to stand up for her beliefs has led her to inspire others around her.

Gauri Nanda

Founder

Gauri Nanda is a student in 11th Grade studying at Welham Girls’ School, Dehradun. She is a driven individual who focuses on making an impact by doing what she loves. She takes a keen interest in economics and its integration into the political sciences and technology spheres. Being a voracious reader, she finds herself trying to find solutions for the complexities of the current world situations. She is a resilient leader, committed to doing her best.
